US Embassy Trip to Nuku’alofa, September 20-27, 2022

The U.S. Embassy in Suva, Fiji will offer consular services to U.S. citizens in Tonga from September 20-27, 2022.

We will accept applications for Services for American citizens, including foreign birth reports and US passport applications, as well as provide notarization services for documents for use in the United States.

Applicants should not make irrevocable travel arrangements until they have received their new/valid passports from the US Embassy in Suva, Fiji. The Embassy cannot guarantee that passports will be available on a particular date.

Please note the usual estimated processing times below:

Limited Emergency Passports: 2-3 weeks

Consular report of birth abroad: 5-7 weeks

These processing times assume that applications submitted are complete, clearly acceptable, and that the applicant has arranged return shipping with a courier company such as FedEx or DHL prior to the interview.

Appointments for American Citizen Services will be available at:

Nuku’alofa on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Monday, September 21-23 and 26, 2022.

Please note that we can only see applicants who have scheduled an appointment. We cannot accept face-to-face applications.

Please note that we only have a limited number of appointments available. Once we confirm your appointment, we’ll also let you know what documents you need to bring and tell you the fees you’ll have to pay and the payment options. For security reasons, cash will not be accepted.
