Washington: In another horrific incident, one person was killed and five others were injured in a shooting in Seattle’s Renton neighborhood early Saturday morning, police said. Police responded to shots fired in the city of Renton shortly before 1 a.m. local time, Renton police spokeswoman Sandra Havlik told CNN.
Upon arrival, the police found several victims. One person had died, and emergency workers treated others at the scene, Havlik said. Initial reports indicate that the shooting was the result of an altercation outside a large gathering, which led to the shooting of the target, police said.
The shooting was still under investigation Saturday morning, Havlik said. Renton is a city of about 160,000 people about 12 km drive southeast of downtown Seattle. There have been 3,200 shootings in the US this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive.
