WASHINGTON – The American Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has announced the release of the updated program for clergy formation in the United States (PPF). The sixth edition of this document, which was announced at the solemn service of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 24, is a special law of the Church in the United States and serves as a guide for seminars and priesthood calling programs that form men for the priesthood. . This document was published in accordance with the Holy See’s 2016 document, Ratio Fundamentalis Institutiones Sacerdotalis.
The PPF determines the nature and mission of the ministerial priesthood, standards for the admission of candidates, norms for the formation of candidates and norms for the management and administration of seminars.
Bishop James F.
