With the way America has been acting, its birthday party – the fourth of July – needs to be canceled this year. It’s not that I’m celebrating anyway because the closest thing to Black Independence Day is Juneteenth. But still, nothing about the current state of these United States is like freedom.

First of all, the Supreme Court has been showing its whole ass and it needs to be put in a time limit.

#SCOTUS is showing its whole ass this summer.

Let’s start with the most obvious reason why – the demolition of Roe v. Wade.

Last week, five of the justices (two of whom testify that Roe v. Wade was a standing precedent during their confirmation hearings) voted to throw out the landmark ruling, giving prerogative back to the provinces.

As expected, it took no time for states with trigger laws to implement abortion bans and restrictions on contraceptive care at multiple levels, throwing a long and fat middle finger at women seeking options that could mean life or death.

Then immediately after throwing a gut to the health of girls, they ruled that it was right for a high school football coach to pray on the field after games.

And it’s not as simple as a man who wanted to quietly pray to himself after games. Players on the team did it with him, saying one that they feared revenge if they didn’t do it or felt compelled to do so, despite being an atheist.

Supreme Court rulings make 4th of July not worth celebrating

While SCOTUS calls itself protecting the instructor’s First Amendment rights, why not the students? And what does this mean for the future of religious “freedom”?

In both of these cases, the separation of church and state has just been thrown completely out the window. These SCOTUS decisions are not driven by legal impartiality. This may interest you : ‘Rogue Black Holes’ may not be ‘Rogue’ or ‘Black Holes’. It is a national, judicial indoctrination of conservative values and morals, explicitly guided by religious ideologies. That’s not independence.

And finally, they have just made a decision to reduce tribal authority in Oklahoma, allowing the state to handle certain crimes on Native American land.

In one, we know Oklahoma can’t do anything right. With its historic abuse of Black Oklahomans, how can we expect them to administer justice to another group that has been crucified and marginalized since Columbus plundered their land?

And secondly, SCOTUS seems to have just said, “F * ck it, let the provinces do our job”.

If the highest court in the country does not defend the rights of the greatest good, how is this a free country? What’s the point of the 4th of July?

Republicans are anti-freedom

Also, Republicans need to get behind SCOTUS to the deadline. As a matter of fact, just send them to exile. They don’t need to celebrate 4th of July more than the rest of us.

They have proven anti-freedom in their support of overturning Roe v. Read also : 502 Black Business Week offers exposure to locally owned businesses. Wade. Attempts to ban Black and LGBTQ + history in classrooms have become campaigning soap boxes to combat the “awakening agenda”. Their reluctance to protect schools from mass shootings through meaningful reform and loyalty to Donald Trump while playing dumb for the January 6 Rebellion shows that they are ready to turn a blind eye to domestic terrorism and white supremacy.

What kind of independence do we have if we are held hostage by privilege, racism, unsuccessful policies, inaction and lack of empathy?

Speaking of inaction, Democrats should be embarrassed to come to the party because they are still beaten by Republicans.

Real talk, Dems are losing ground with the Black, Latino and Asian communities that make up a large portion of their voting base. The economy is in shambles under this blue administration and Republicans are taking every opportunity they can to attack and rule them out while charging a growing conservative base.

The party of the 99 singers is being weighed and we, the people, are watching and wondering if she will ever fight back.

Instead of the United States of America, these are officially the “Scandalous” States of America.

From July 2022, women are gradually losing rights to governing our bodies, and many citizens are unable to feed their families because job salaries do not keep pace with inflation.

We are ranked number one in the world for mass shooting.

We have billions for Ukraine, but Joe Biden is begging Congress for a gas tax holiday to stop the bloodshed at the pumps.

White supremacists line the streets and states committing physical and political hate crimes.

Calling ourselves a democracy when women can’t govern our own bodies … the curiosity and the hypocrisy.

Americans cannot feed their families because of inflation and low-paying jobs.

So what’s there to celebrate? Throw away the whole holiday because there is no sense of freedom at all.
