After winning Wimbledon in July, Djokovic said he hoped the United States would change its policy by allowing him to play in the final tournament this year, and seemed to be training for the tournament. On July 30, he posted a video on Instagram in which he practiced on hard court.
“I prepare myself as if I could compete while waiting to hear if there is room to travel to the United States,” he wrote alongside the video.
