Go remote

People who work remotely do not stop doing their work. But they can do their work from anywhere. This may interest you : Video: What was your first video game?. And if you like to travel, it could make a big difference.

Let’s say you are required to report to the office every day to get your work done. This means you will need to adjust your travel schedule around that request. This could result in you having to travel at more expensive times.

But being remote gives you more flexibility. You can fly home on a Monday or Tuesday instead of a Sunday, when the airfare might be much higher, and in the meantime, you’re doing your work from another city. You can even pick up and travel to a new city during the work week if you’re okay with your travel options being limited to dinner and a lunch break.

Another thing to keep in mind is that many employers only give their workers a limited number of vacation days. And that could disrupt your travel plans. But if you get a remote job or are able to move your current job to a remote one, then this will be less of a problem, as you will have the option to simply work from another location.

When you’re self-employed, you can set your own schedule, giving you the freedom to do your work from anywhere and take time off as you wish.

Of course, the downside of going freelance is losing benefits like paid health insurance and time off. Plus, when you’re self-employed, you can’t always enjoy a predictable, steady stream of income, so you’ll need a decent savings cushion if you want to go this route. But it can be a worthwhile trade-off if it makes traveling easier.

There are many benefits to frequent travel, and you may find that more travel helps you recharge and lift your spirits. And if some changes to your work arrangement are what’s needed to make travel more feasible, then those are changes worth pursuing.
