• A former San Antonio Spurs employee alleged that now-former Spurs guard Josh Primo exposed himself in her presence, a person familiar with the matter said Saturday night.

The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the Spurs, Primo or the prosecutor have not publicly disclosed any details.

Attorney Tony Buzbee confirmed to the AP that he was hired by a “former contract” with the Spurs. He is the attorney who represented 24 women who sued Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson, then of the Houston Texans, accusing him of sexual assault or harassment.

MLB: All-Star third baseman Nolan Arenado will not exercise the opt-out clause in his contract with the Cardinals, keeping him in St. Louis through the end of the 2027 season, a person familiar with his decision told The Associated Press.

Arenado had until five days after the World Cup to decide whether to opt out of the remaining five years and $144 million of his contract. He originally signed an eight-year, $260 million contract with the Colorado Rockies in 2019 before being sent to the NL Central champions, where he is scheduled to earn a base salary of $35 million next season.

NASCAR CUP SERIES: Kyle Larson will start on the pole in Sunday’s race at Martinsville Speedway.

Larson set a fast lap at 96.078 mph, passing Chase Elliott for the top spot. Elliott’s lap was 96.019 mph, putting the last two NASCAR Cup Series champions on the front row for the final race before the four-driver championship is decided.

Elliott remains a contender for his second title. Larson was eliminated.

NASCAR XFINITY: Ty Gibbs knocked teammate Brandon Jones out of the lead in the third overtime in a controversial win that had the Martinsville Speedway crowd booing Gibbs.

When the 20-year-old grandson of team owner Joe Gibbs cruised to victory, fans chanted “thank you, grandpa” to spoil the celebration.

The win advances Gibbs to next week’s Xfinity Series Championship Finals, where he will race against three Chevrolet drivers from JR Motorsports. If Gibbs had finished second behind Jones, a win for Jones would have put two JGR Toyotas into the championship final.

FORMULA ONE: Max Verstappen edged closer to a record 14th win of the Formula One season by holding off the Mercedes pair and Mexican favorite Sergio Perez to take pole for the Mexico City Grand Prix.

PGA TOUR: Seamus Power knows the wind and Port Royal well enough to realize he’d be better off getting his points early. He did just that, adding a couple of birdies late and carding another 6-under 65 to share the lead with Ben Griffin at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship in Southhampton, Bermuda.

Power made a 30-foot birdie putt on the daunting par-3 16th and made a 12-foot birdie on the par-5 17th to atone for his only mistake, a double bogey on the par-3 13th.

Griffin followed the same scenario in the strong wind with three birdies to open his round. He kept his downwind approach at the 18th to 5 feet for birdie and a 66.

They were 18-under 195, two strokes ahead of Kevin Yu (67) and Aaron Baddeley (68).

Malaysia’s Gavin Green, who shared the lead with Smith entering the day, remains his closest competitor after his 64.
