RB Christopher Jean led a solid ground attack as he ran 9 times for 111 yards. QB Noah Hill completed 16 of 24 passes for 218 yards and 3 TDs.

Young coached at U-Prep for 3 seasons, winning the Section 5 Class A title last fall. After the season, U-Prep was moved up to the Class AA level, despite being an all-boys Charter School with only 216 students. His career record as a coach is 22-3.

“I want to get these kids to see something different, a place that’s not Rochester,” Young said. “I want them to see that if they take their academics and football seriously, going to college is something they can do.”

“We just load some kids into the school vans and off we go,” he said. “We’ve visited offseason workouts at colleges. We’ve been to prospect camps. The furthest we went was Michigan in 2019. We went to UConn last summer.”

Young has been a teacher at U-Prep for the past four years. The head coach focuses on the importance of academics off the field that have played a role in his team having a 3.18 GPA through week 5 of the season.
