The Norsemen have won their first three district games heading into Friday’s showdown with West Marshall. But the game showed they still need to go on the road to be up there with the elite programs in 2A.

“We knew this game was going to be a big test,” Roland-Story head coach Matt Finn said. “West Marshall is the only team to beat any of the teams we lost to earlier in the season (South Hamilton and Nevada), and they’ve proven to be a solid team.”

Roland-Story gave up 492 yards and two turnovers. The Norsemen had 271 yards of offense and did not force a single turnover.

“As tough as West Marshall’s defense was, we were our own worst enemy at times,” Finn said. “I’ve got to do a better job as a head coach and coordinator to get our guys ready for those big moments. There are lessons we can learn from film and we’ll learn from them and make adjustments.”
