The Missouri Valley Conference will distribute broadcast packages of men’s basketball on Bally Sports Networks and NBC Sports Chicago from 2022-23, Commissioner Jeff Jackson announced today.
The Valley, with Kansas City-based LTN Global Communications as its production company, has partnered with Bally Sports Midwest — along with sister regional outlets Bally Sports Indiana, Bally Sports Kansas City, Bally Sports South and Bally Sports Southeast — and NBC. Sports Chicago to delete the broadcast.
The Valley on ESPN — the league’s co-branded digital platform via the ESPN app — will also distribute production outside the network’s 13 states combined — Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. The league’s broadcast schedule kicks off with two pre-Christmas productions, as the State of Indiana hosts Drake (November 30) and new MVC member Belmont travels to the State of Illinois (December 4).
Prior to year one, Valley play resumed, with Belmont hosting Bradley (28 December) and new members of MVC UIC traveling to Bradley (31 December).
Coverage of the 2023 part of the schedule begins on January 7, as the Conference uses the Wildcard Selection process for the first of four times to determine broadcasts on its network.
As part of the Wildcard Selection process, the league will vote and announce its broadcast selection 14 days from the competition. The remaining Wildcard Election Dates are January 14, January 21, and February 26.
Pre-set January broadcasts include Missouri State in Drake (January 18), Illinois State at Bradley (January 25) and Missouri State at Murray State (January 28).
The predefined February schedule features Northern Iowa in Drake (February 1), Missouri State in Southern Illinois (February 5), Belmont in the State of Missouri (February 8), Drake in Northern Iowa (February 15) and Bradley in Valparaiso (February 15). 22 February).
