Another full slate of five-game college football action is underway on CBS Sports Network during the fourth week of the season. Starting Friday night and continuing through Saturday, this week’s lineup includes games from around the country that should give us a better understanding of where things stand in Conference USA, the MAC and the Mountain West.
First up was UTEP surprising Boise State 27-10, followed by a MAC contest between Buffalo and Eastern Michigan in Saturday’s early slot. In the afternoon, Western Kentucky will host FIU looking to improve to 3-1 on the season. Then, Mountain West foes Utah State and UNLV will tangle in evening windows before Western Michigan and San Jose State close things out with a late-night battle.
The first few weeks of the season have provided several reminders of just how unpredictable college football can be. With conference play starting to pick up, the intensity should only increase and bring more exciting finishes along with some unexpected results.
Here’s a complete recap of all the Week 4 action on CBS Sports Network. All times in the east.

Storyline: Western Michigan fell to 1-2 with a 34-13 loss to Pittsburgh last week as the Broncos mustered just 180 yards. The Spartans were off last week after a tough 24-16 loss to Auburn in Week 2. The Spartans have been particularly stingy through two games in 2022 as they try to regain the momentum gained during a 7-1 season in 2020. With league games ahead for both teams, this one will be critical to each team’s bowl hopes.
