A look at what’s happening at Cleveland State Athletics…

Men’s Soccer-The Vikings will hit the road for two contests this week, starting at 4:00 p.m. game at St. Bonaventure today (Monday, Sept. 12), before traveling to Detroit Mercy on Saturday, Sept. 17 to open #HLMSOC play.

-Last time, Cleveland State dropped its first game of the year, falling to No. 8 Marshall 3-1, with Bojan Kolevski scoring in the third minute.

-Jannis Schmidt earned the second consecutive Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week award after scoring two goals at UIC and the third goal at Army.

Women’s Soccer-Cleveland State will begin Horizon League play this week, traveling to IUPUI on Thursday, September 15 and hosting Detroit Mercy on Sunday, September 18.

-The Vikings finished non-league play last time out, dropping a 1-0 decision at Canisius.

-Last week, Kathryn Ramicone was named the Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week, after recording two goals and an assist against Niagara and Saint Francis.

Volleyball-Cleveland State will close out non-league play this week, traveling to Kent State on Thursday, September 15th before hosting Akron on Friday, September 16th.

-Last time, the Vikings posted a 3-1 win against Morgan State in their 2022 home opener.

-Entering the week, Laken Voss is averaging a team-high 3.41 kills per set, while Audrey McConihe is averaging a team-best 4.31 digs per set.

Cross Country-The Vikings will return to action at the All-Ohio Championships, with the women’s 6K scheduled for 6:00 p.m. starting on Friday, September 16.

-Last time, Cleveland State participated in the Tommy Titan Invite, with Hannah Korte finishing second and Ariana Coats placing fifth overall.

-The All-Ohio Championships will mark the third of seven races for the Vikings this season.

Men’s Golf-Cleveland State will return to action at the Joe Feaganes Invitational, with the two-day tournament taking place on Monday, September 12 and Tuesday, September 13.

-The Vikings opened their 2022 fall slate at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational last time out, with David Laib posting a T15 finish to lead the Vikings.
