In a Rolling Stone story set to be published Monday, Warriors guard Steph Curry discussed the franchise’s willingness to trade for Nets star Kevin Durant this summer.

“There was an internal conversation between us about, ‘If he was available, would you?'” Curry told Rolling Stone.
“Every team has those conversations, and obviously in our situation, they’re going to call me and ask me, ‘How do you feel about this?’ I never hesitated. The idea of playing with KD and knowing who he is as a person, from our history over those three years, I think KD is a really good guy. I think he is misunderstood. I think certain things happened in his life that hurt his ability to trust the people around him in the sense that he felt safe all the time.
“So I understand all those things from playing with him and getting to know him. I love this guy,” Curry continued. “And if they said, ‘Oh, KD is coming back and we’re going to play with him,’ I had so much fun playing with him for those three years, I’d be like, ‘Hell yeah!'”
After winning his fourth NBA championship against the Celtics this summer, Curry and the Warriors will once again be among the title favorites in 2022, even without Durant on their side once again.
Durant can say he’d like to go to Phoenix or Miami, but Sean Marks and the Nets aren’t committed to that destination request. They can send it wherever they think is the best return for them.
