The Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame Board of Directors has announced that the annual summer picnic on August 8 will feature nine county athletes at the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club for All-New York State or All-American status in 2022.

First to be recognized will be Westfield Central School’s Darien Swanson, who is a New York State Class D All-American basketball player. Swanson will also receive the Stan Marshaus Legacy Award for being the most outstanding male high school golfer in Chautauqua County.

Trenton Shutters and Michael Butterfield, both of Southwestern Central, USA Track & Field Youth Indoor Nationals All-Americans. Persiana ran the 800 meters and Butterfield the 200 meters.

Westfield Central’s Haleigh Dellow will be honored to earn First Team All-New York State status for Class D softball.

Jamestown Community College swimmers Kaylee Constantino and Tia Moppert will be recognized for achieving NJCAA All-American status. Constantino swam the 50m breaststroke and Moppert competed in the 200m individual medley.

Finally, two senior swimmers will be honored for their outstanding performances at the Senior Empire State Games in New York State. Karen Williams was the gold medalist in the 60-64 age group, while Judy Young won six gold medals in the 95-99 age group.
