In April, the Louisiana High School Athletic Association voted to allow high school athletes to receive Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) benefits. The landmark decision followed a partnership with Eccker Sports to provide resources and training tools to navigate the new world of NIL.

“I think it’s very important that everyone associated with high school sports in Louisiana be properly educated and informed of the names, images, and faces,” said Eddie Bonine, CEO of the LHSAA. “NIL is a lot and it’s an expectation we need to stay on top of.”

Not all states share that view, however.

Louisiana at forefront of allowing NIL
