The center of the sporting world on Wednesday night is the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, where the annual ESPY Awards honor the best of sporting moments by the world’s top athletes.
Golden State Warrior Steph Curry hosted the awards ceremony, also winning several, including NBA Player of the Year. A total of eight awards were awarded during the live broadcast, which was broadcast by ABC.
ESPYS raises awareness and funds for the Foundation for Cancer Research, the charity founded by ESPN and the late basketball coach Jim Valvano at the first ESPYS in 1993. ESPN and the V Foundation have pledged to continue raising awareness and funding for cancer research until there is victory over cancer. This year, the V Foundation has generous donors who will match prizes for the V Foundation up to a total of $1 million. For more information, go to V.org.
