July 5 (Reuters) – A New York judge on Tuesday held firm Cushman & amp; Wakefield PLC (CWK.N) in contempt of court for failing to produce documents summoned in an investigation into former US President Donald Trump’s business practices.
The judge ordered the company to be fined $ 10,000 per day until the following.
Attorney General Letitia James has been investigating Trump’s business practices for three and a half years, focusing on whether his company misreported the values of the properties in order to obtain favorable loans and tax deductions.

In his order on Tuesday, Judge Arthur Engoron ruled that the day fine at Cushman & amp; Wakefield was due to start on July 7. He criticized the company for waiting until two days after a deadline to start the process of requesting a new extension.
“Cushman & Wakefield fails to identify any good cause” to break the deadline, Engoron wrote.
Wakefield & amp; Cushman said it had produced “over hundreds of thousands” of pages of documents and more than 650 reviews since the last subpoena issued in February.
“Cushman disagrees with any proposal that the company has not exercised due diligence and good faith in complying with the court’s order, and we will appeal this decision,” a spokesman for the company said in an email to Reuters.
The ruling adds a number of recent victories for James in the face of Trump’s attempts to derail the investigation.
Trump, a Republican, denies wrongdoing and calls the investigation a politically motivated witch hunt.
