(CNN) — Marcus Mumford has teamed up with a movie legend for the music video for his powerful new single, “Cannibal.”
According to Mumford, lead singer of the British rock band Mumford & Children, the video was shot on July 3 in a high school gym in New York.
“I have been overwhelmed by the support of the people around me in bringing you this music, and I can’t wait to express my full gratitude,” she wrote on Instagram. “When people get it, it blows my mind. Kate and Steven just got it, and I can’t thank them enough.”
Spielberg, Mumford added, shot the video “in one take, on his phone.”
Spielberg’s wife, actress Kate Capshaw, attended as “the almighty doll.” She was also credited as producer and art director.
In a photo shared by Mumford, Capshaw is seen dragging her husband on a wheeled chair.
Mumford’s wife, actress Carey Mulligan, was credited as the “client”.
“Cannibal” is the first single from Mumford’s solo album, due out on September 16.
Earlier this month, Mumford said he wrote the song “in January 2021, facing demons I’ve long danced with in isolation.”
He called the next record “dear to my heart”.
