KENNESAW, Ga.

(July 8, 2022) — A natural on stage at the piano, Sammy Mishkin flies through George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody”

in Blue” in an empty concert hall, serene as his fingers fly over the keys.

Mishkin finds refuge in music, which has been his passion for more than half of his life

life will now become his career.

“Music has always been with me,” he said. “Music only provides a sense of comfort

and it allows me to be who I am, live in my own skin and be confident in my abilities.”

Mishkin, who graduated with high honors from the College of the Arts in May with a degree in music performance, wants to be a professional pianist and is taking his first steps

towards that goal this summer. He successfully auditioned for Collaborative Piano

Program at the American Institute for Musical Studies (AIMS) in Graz, Austria, where

singers and pianists learn techniques to start their careers in highly competitive Europe

music industry.

“I heard a lot about this program, and so did my colleagues, professors and family

he made me take advantage of those opportunities. So I decided now is the right time

it’s time to finally realize my most cherished ambitions.” said Mishkin who grew up

in Cumming, Ga. “It’s really an honor to earn a spot.”
