I volunteered for Baconfest in K’ville on Sunday where I had the second best job at the event – selling beer and wine. Of course, the best job would be to pour the mentioned beer and wine. What a great event! They sold out a bacon-themed food competition, which is probably the biggest draw other than Hot Roux’s musical performance. Of course, my sales partner, Maile Field, did all the work – I mostly smiled, joked and enjoyed the day. Woohoo! We look forward to next year! And please continue with that or we could lose a few more places. So, if and when you go out with live music this week, have fun, but be sure…

Mike Guarniero

Mike has been playing professionally, both acoustic and electric, for over 40 years. He paid his bills on the strong Sonoma County music scene during the 80s and 90s and then worked for 10 years after moving to Lake County in 1996. After retiring from his 26-year job because he recognized the growing local music scene, he decided to dedicate himself again to live music. He never looked back. Together with his regular band, Dr. Groove, has worked on guitar for local bands (Fargo Bros., Blues Farm, C.A.M. Band, Borrowed Time, Time Travelers). He has played acoustic guitar in some of our local wineries, restaurants, agricultural markets and art galleries. He is also a semi-regular player supporting a variety of local open microphones across Lake County. He writes and records original songs and has recorded original demos for other artists as well. For the past three years, he has posted a local music guide on Facebook called the Lake County Music Guide.
