The public is invited to UH Portage Medical Center, Ravenna, 6827 N. Chestnut St., July 30 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a family-friendly community event called Family Health and Safety Day, with free health screenings, educational activities and demonstrations.

Medical examinations that require pre-registration include carotid vascularity, hearing and hernia. Call 330-577-9993 to register.

Health screenings include balance and grip, blood pressure, blood glucose, body mass index, bone density, cholesterol and pre-diabetes risk.

Additional offers include:
