The Food and Nutrition Service’s Turnip the Beet awards highlight the importance of the summer diet program for up and beyond, making sure children get what they want. in a fun, safe and healthy school environment. These healthy foods help keep kids healthy throughout the summer and get ready to learn when school starts again.
I am proud to report that one of these awards went to the Greater Fulton Antiquities Center (NRC), a support program in Richmond, Virginia. Set in the middle of a busy neighborhood, the NRC is surrounded by a fully functional farm in the town called the “Learning Garden.”
