Eligible children from Ohio will receive summer food assistance through a program called Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT). This provides additional funding for food assistance throughout the summer for children who receive free or reduced breakfasts / lunches from school. Children under the age of 6 are eligible for P-EBT funding on the basis of installments provided to them in childcare centers.

Each eligible child will receive a total of $ 390.50, which will be provided in two installments. The first award ($ 191.70) will be issued by the end of June and the second ($ 198.80) by the end of July.

The state obtains a list of eligible children from the child’s school district. If your child is not currently receiving a free or discounted lunch and you feel eligible to do so, contact your school by July 31 to enroll. All newly enrolled children will also be entitled to benefits for the summer pandemic. New applications must be processed by 9 September to provide benefits to the family by the end of September.

If the child is already receiving food assistance through an adult carer, the child’s additional amount will be added to the adult food assistance card. If the child is not currently in the food assistance group, the pre-loaded P-EBT card will be mailed to the child’s last known address in July. The card will be in the child’s name. Groups of siblings will be on one card.

For general questions about the program, call P-EBT Customer Support at 1-866-244-0071, Option 1.
