ATLANTA, Ga (CBS46) —Hundreds of families lined up to get free fresh food Friday in South Atlanta.

Many community members are showing up to Fulton County Oak Hill Child Adolescent & amp; The Family Center told CBS46 without this show they won’t have enough food for a week because of how difficult it is now with the cost of inflation.

Should Nonprofit Ministries, Community Choice Teaching Kitchen, Chick-Fil-A and the community outreach team from the Atlanta Braves spent hours passing out food to families that emerged.

“We are here once a month and the mission here is to provide healthy dining options to our clients and they call a lot to get fresh fruit, vegetables, milk and not only that but toiletries,” Senior Director of Must Ministries Yvonne Byars said.

“The needs are there, it’s always and it’s good to have partners such as Must Ministries, and Chick-Fil-A who will come with us and do this regularly to make sure we can meet the needs. Some people are suggesting that CBS46 inflation is now causing them to make tough choices between gas and food.

“If I didn’t have this, I would eat half of the food that I ate because it was tight. I’m on a set budget and I don’t have excess money to spend and it was a great help,” South Atlanta local resident William Haugabrook said.
