PHOENIX — There’s an important link brewing inside Bob Moses Ceramic Coating in north Phoenix.

An unexpected training session between Matt Moses and 12-year-old Zane Jones started with an email.

“When the email came from him, I read it and fell asleep,” said Moses.

Moses, who owns a convenience store and nine other locations, says Zane has shown interest in learning the business.

“There are many people doing business who say no, I don’t have time for that,” said Zane who is crazy about cars.

However, Moses did the opposite.

He invited Zane into the shop where he covered the staff at each location and got a crash course in ceramic coating and technique.

“I learned a lot to treat customers well and that if I want to start a business, they taught me everything behind the business,” said Zane. “People are the most important thing. The staff were amazing, and you could tell how they worked as a team. “

His training included budgeting, finance and procurement.

It also gave him the opportunity to improve his handwriting style-on-demand. Moses confessed that Zane’s arrival hurt him a lot.

“Seeing it opened my eyes to something important, and I think we as businessmen have a responsibility to influence young people,” said Moses. “It gave me great hope to see someone so young and ambitious.”

So he decided to become Zane’s first investor and gave him $300 dollars to start.

Zane shared the news on Monday, how the name of his business honors Moses and his amazing team.

“It’s called 802 Auto Detailing and the reason it’s called 802 is because I walked into the shop on August 2nd, 8-02, so I decided to name my business here because it was a shocking experience,” said Zane.

“Wow, I didn’t know that until today,” Matt said in disbelief.

Matt says it’s an experience he’ll never forget. In fact, it encouraged him to look into doing it more often.

What started from a simple email, turned into a potential lifelong friendship and a renewed belief in the power of supporting the dreams of others.
