I would like to share some updates about our business operations. We are rolling out a new organizational structure that we believe will lead to greater efficiency, synergy and alignment between our operations and the employee experience. We strive to fulfill the goals of our strategic plan, Blueprint for Success, to serve our students and provide stronger support to those of you working within these units.
Finance and Administration
We are launching a nationwide search for a new Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer. This role oversees finance and administration; budget and planning; information Technology; the Morrison center; and ExtraMile Arena. This vice president will focus on helping the institution develop a sustainable budget model, create alignment with Blueprint for Success, and build sustainable infrastructure to support the university’s remarkable upward trajectory. These critical areas require a focused leadership approach.
University Affairs
All existing units under University Affairs will remain in the division and we will shift the construction and engineering services; capital planning and space management; environmental health, safety and sustainability; university art curator and collection management; and facilities, operations and maintenance permanently under the division, effective immediately, increasing these vital offices. Alicia Estey will continue her role as Chief of Staff and Vice President for University Affairs and become Chief Operating Officer. The division will seek to fulfill leadership roles to support these changes.
Human Resources
We are starting a nationwide search for a Chief Human Resources Officer. This new role, reporting directly to the President, will ensure progress in achieving our strategic goal of fostering a thriving community. See the article : Department press briefing – July 18, 2022 – United States Department of State. This leader will oversee all current HR functions, communicate with government agencies and be responsible for developing a responsive, innovative and collaborative HR unit that recruits, compensates, retains and develops highly talented and engaged Boise State employees.
Thank you for your dedication to serving our employees and for your continued efforts to make Boise State University the special place it is.
