The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Office for the Use of Small and Disadvantaged Businesses (OSDBU) will host a one-day small business supplier outreach event (VOME) on Wednesday, July 20, 2022. Order 13985, Promoting Racial Equality and Supporting Undernourished Communities through the Federal Government, and OSDBU’s primary mission is to maximize the best and most outsourced opportunities for small businesses. This event focuses on small businesses with socio-economic status (HUBZone, women-owned, service). – Small businesses owned and disadvantaged by disabled veterans).

The event is virtual and should raise awareness of subcontracting opportunities, potential teamwork, facilitate discussions that can lead to a mentor-defendant relationship, and a space where small businesses can showcase their key opportunities. Each meeting is a 15-minute meeting, determined by the alignment of core competencies and business areas defined by the North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code (s). General contractors decide to meet with small businesses that match the services or products they are looking for. Consequently, there may be many small businesses that register but may not attend the meeting.

Registration for the VOME session on July 20, 2022 is now open. Space is limited.

Small businesses must register on the DHS Large Business Prime – Small Business VOME – July 20, 2022 site and provide the necessary information to add a valid email address to their profile that can be used with various virtual tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WebEx, etc.). When your business receives an appointment confirmation from the scheduling site, you’ll receive an email inviting them to a virtual meeting. Please see the attached registration guide. Note that if you experience connectivity issues using virtual tools, you may want to run the session over the phone or reschedule.
