The annual Book and Paper Show returns to Chautauqua County the first weekend in August. The event will feature an estimated 20 vendors with a wide variety of books, postcards, maps, posters and more for sale.

MAYVILLE – Vintage Book and Paper Show 2022 & Sale returns the first weekend of August to Chautauqua County, and this year it’s in a new and bigger location.

The event takes place between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Chautauqua Suites, 215 West Lake Road, Route 394, Mayville.

The Book and Paper Show will have more than 20 different vendors on hand selling a wide variety of items, including vintage and rare books, first editions, antiquarian books, local history, postcards, photography, maps, historical documents, posters , sports memorabilia, comic books, trading cards, sheet music, and much more.

“There’s something here for everyone,” said Bob Johnston, show chairman. “Everyone is invited to come and take advantage of what can turn into a treasure hunt for historical, artistic and cultural items of interest.”

Books are once again a key part of the event, with various vendors selling rare books, hard-to-find classic first editions along with modern first editions, children’s books and various types of history books – including local and regional history. As well as local books, there will also be local photographs, postcards and other items.

This year’s vendors include well-known Western New York vintage booksellers Kevin Ransom and Ron Cozzi, postcard dealers George Sinclair and Carol Abendschein, antique photo specialist/dealer Scott Brasseur, regional ephemera from Vince Martonis/Tom Karapantso, and interesting and unusual items from Bill Pop from Erie and Bob Hopper from Falls Church, Va. Also present will be Wayne Leamer to assist with regional genealogy, Rick Roll with solutions to digitize your family history, and prolific railroad author Kenneth Springirth.

Admission to the event is $5 with all proceeds benefiting the #93 Jamestown Trolley Restoration Project and Building Fund with the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation.
