CINCINNATI – It’s been a struggle to find something that hasn’t gone up in price in recent months. But there are some items that don’t go up and include one of my favorite summer activities: books.

Local booksellers hope to encourage more people to come and shop this summer.

He owns the Book Rack in Anderson Township, which has been based in the Cincinnati neighborhood since 1988.

And while the store has gone through difficult times over the past two years, they are surprised that recent inflation hasn’t caused it.

“I’ve been waiting to climb,” Fawley said.

While most things are going up in price, some are not. Axios says baseball games, cell phones and jewelry are cheaper this year than last year. As for the books, they have remained the same.

“You’d think it’s a production of making books, and that would cause a price problem anyway,” Fawley said. “But it hasn’t been. So I’m shocked and excited!”

For Fawley, he hopes budget-friendly books will remind people of the joy and ease of opening a book, especially in the summer.

“You can go home and read,” he said. “You don’t have to spend a lot of money on gas. You don’t have to spend money going here and there. It’s nice and relaxing and takes you away from the crazy world to sit and read at home.”
