One of my favorite Netflix documentary releases of 2022 is a title that actually reminds me of one of the greatest Netflix releases of all time, La Casa de Papel (aka Money Heist). A Spanish-language television series about a group of thieves, this series ran for five seasons and mixed gun battles and action scenes with great plot twists, romance and a sense of thieves’ flair. So it was actually more than just pulling off a robbery.

The new Netflix documentary I watched is Bank Robbers: The Last Great Heist, which, like its spiritual cousin Money Heist, focuses on a small group of robbers who (at the time) thought of themselves as thrill seekers. romantics and fanatics (albeit with a biased and overly grandiose sense of themselves). Bank Robbers, which is available to stream now, also includes a new element: the participation of the robbers themselves.

Why did I rob a bank? This is a question that I have often asked myself.

And I believe the most reasonable explanation is –

“In 2006,” the Netflix summary of this documentary explains, “a group of men broke into a bank in Buenos Aires, stole millions, then disappeared. How did they get away with it? This documentary explains .

Bank Robbers straddles a sort of line between poetry and crime, fanning out into the hollow chasm where men break badly and decide the thing that will give their lives meaning is – well, in this case, robbing a bank. . A fascinating character study here, from start to finish. The thieves eventually stole millions of dollars in cash from safes, but it was one of their ex-wives who returned them.

Another new Netflix documentary – I Just Killed My Dad

Another new Netflix documentary that we want to highlight, meanwhile, is a title that just came out and got everyone talking. See the article : Top Netflix Movies & TV Shows: What’s Trending July 4th 2022. But it’s probably one that will be a little uncomfortable to watch with the whole family.

This new Netflix documentary, “I Just Killed My Dad” might just be Netflix’s craziest detective series this side of Tiger King. I think it’s even wilder than “The Girl In The Picture”. Just turn and turn after turn and turn.

I Just Killed My Dad is a series of 3 episodes that Netflix describes as such. “I Just Killed My Father is an unprecedented documentary series, which tells the incredible, never-told true story of the Templet family.

“Anthony Templet shot his father and never denied it. But why he did it is a complex question with profound implications that go far beyond a single family. This three-part documentary series explores Anthony’s psyche before the events of June 3, 2019 and the journey of its mental and emotional aftermath.

Anthony told police, among other things, that his father abused him. This statement, however, confounded at least one police inquisitor, who says he saw no signs of physical abuse on the boy. There’s also an abundance of other quirks, like the father’s mania for setting up surveillance around his house.

Does Anthony think he deserves to be in jail? No, he tells the camera at one point, “because I didn’t do anything wrong.” Nonetheless, he’s still visibly traumatized by the event at the heart of this Netflix release, as you can imagine.

“The scariest thing about Anthony,” we are told at one point in the docuseries, “he’s just kind of like a blank slate.”
