Set in futuristic London, The Feed is based on an implant that allows people to live their lives without needing to press a button on a phone. No, nothing is ever wrong. An interesting cast includes David Thewlis and Michelle Fairley. While not as polished or as cutting-edge as Black Mirror, The Feed is still worth watching.

Electric Dreams (2017-2018)

Electric Dreams lives up to its name, each part of the anthology series is a beautiful, polished product revolving around the ideas of the source material: The Works of Philip K. Dick. As with most anthologies, some episodes are better than others, but if you crave storytelling with Black Mirror-like setups, let this reverie wash over you.

The Man in the High Castle (2015-2019)

The Man in the High Castle envisions an alternate history where the Axis powers (Rome-Berlin-Tokyo) win World War II. Based on the book by Philip K. Dick, the series follows characters in the ’60s living in a parallel world, where Nazi Germany and the Empire of Japan control the US. To see also : Making the Cut returns to Prime Video August 19. But there is an unlikely news channel that focuses on a country where Germany and Japan lose the war, causing some to rebel. To really hammer home its dystopia credentials, The Man in the High Castle is directed by producer Ridley Scott. Fully loaded and with a well thought out strategy, this is a great TV.

Another actor J.K. Simmons is playing from JK Simmons. Enjoy that for a second. Set in Germany during the cold war, the sci-fi thriller follows a lowly office grunt frustrated by his miserable life. Then one day, he swings by at work and meets her, but a better version from the same world. Secrets, intense acting and a masterful dual-lead performance from Simmons make Counterpart a must-watch.

Tales from the Loop (2020—)

Not just another small town show where strange things happen, Tales from the Loop has lines beneath its beautiful premise. Based on the narrative art book written by Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag, the series is amazing to watch. This may interest you : The best sci-fi TV series on Prime Video. Meticulous, symmetrical frames somehow give the feeling of painting. The townspeople are united in common, their stories exploring loneliness, aging and the breakdown of technology.

In more ways than one, Orphan Black is the Tatiana Maslany show. Before she became a household name thanks to Disney Plus’ upcoming She-Hulk, see her play no fewer than 14 characters in one series, including the scorpion. Just let that sink in for a second. Orphan Black sews smart sci-fi concepts into a fast-paced thriller, quickly adding mystery and humor to its pace. A must-watch sci-fi series exploring the character versus parenting debate.

Night Sky isn’t the most appealing title, and the series doesn’t reach the hard sci-fi heights some people might be looking for. Although the series has a slow-burning mystery involving the world, its greatest strength is the moving, sometimes surprisingly funny game between two old, never predictable opponents. Facing health problems, let alone dangerous new guests, Franklin and Irene York (grown-up JK Simmons and Sissy Spacek) do their best with kindness to understand the portal to a mysterious, desolate earth.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022—)

The Star Trek series just keeps on coming. Set 10 years before Star Trek: The Original Series, Strange New Worlds follows Captain Pike (Anson Mount) and the crew of the starship USS Enterprise as they go bold as no one has gone before. With a nod to the original series’ episodic storytelling, narration and design, Strange New Worlds brings a modern take on the much-loved scene.

For trippy sci-fi that begs you to turn on your jungle generator, look no further than the Outer Range. The sci-fi Western is set on the Abbott family farm, where patriarch Royal (Josh Brolin) hides an almighty secret. When a stranger comes to town (Imogen Poots), she is forced to face her past, present and future, and not in a metaphorical sense. Weird in unexpected ways, Outer Range is a solid sci-fi outing worth sticking with.

This sci-fi horror film takes place in a small town plagued by strange and terrifying events. When the family goes missing, they are drawn into a nightmare involving deadly creatures and equally deadly townspeople. With enough wit to keep you hooked and a strong protagonist in Harold Perrineau’s Sheriff Stevens, From is an inclusive place to spend time in.

The Man Who Fell to Earth (2022—)

The series, based on the book by Walter Tevis, features a surprising number of characters: Chiwetel Ejiofor plays an alien living on Earth seeking help from a scientist and Bill Nighy plays Thomas Jerome Newton, the alien who fell to earth in the 1976 movie. adaptation. The role was once played by David Bowie and each episode in this movie sequel is named after one of Bowie’s songs. It’s a solid, entertaining series that’s worth watching without comparing it to its predecessor. Although, if you are not a fan of time-sharing, be careful.

Amazon has rescued The Expanse from canceled TV status, bringing the series up to six seasons. I appreciate how good it is, because The Expanse is smart sci-fi with realistic characters, great production and a detective story. In a future where humans have colonized the Solar System, a conspiracy threatens to start a cold war between the superpowers. A group of anti-heroes find themselves in the middle. Look ahead to some of the best western black spots in the season.
