The dust has finally settled on Stranger Things Season 4, and while Hawkins’ heroes are all together for the first time in the world of eternity, the Hellfire Club is not out of the woods yet. And the way things ended for Eleven, Hopper, Steve (who stumbled against fan expectations and survived), and the rest of the band during the latest offering of the emerging Netflix series to conclude, it should come as no surprise that Stranger Things Season 5 is somewhere down the road, staying like Vecna in the shadows.
But it’s no surprise that we already know a lot about Season 5 of the hugely popular sci – fi series Duffer Brothers at this point. Stranger Things Season 5 Will Be The Last Season

While the Duffer Brothers already have an idea of how things will affect fans’ favorite characters and stand out, they will not begin extending the individual chapters for Stranger Things Season 5 until August 2022 at the earliest . During an interview with Collider published just after the fourth season of two parts of the show, Ross Duffer revealed:
We will be going on a little vacation in July. And then we’ll come back. On the same subject : Netflix Top 10: ‘4 Strange Things’ Becomes Second Forever to Cross 1 Billion Hours. I know the writers’ room is set to begin in that first week of August.
It remains to be seen how long the Duffer Brothers plan to work on the scripts, and who will accompany them.
Stranger Things Season 5 Episodes Won’t Be As Long As Season 4
While each episode featured in Stranger Things Season 4 was over an hour long (and the clock finale in just under two and a half hours), it does not seem to be what we should expect to see too many chapters running at all. much when the fifth season of the show takes place sometime in the future. One thing that might make Stranger Things Season 5 different from previous entries in the series is that it jumps right into action, rather than building up the characters. Speaking to The Wrap in July 2022, Matt Duffer said the final season of the popular Netflix show was “pedal to metal from the front stage”.
Earlier in the interview, Duffer compared Stranger Things Season 5 to Star Wars: Return of the Jedi in that the characters will go straight from where things left in the end of season 4. This makes more sense when you consider that the season ended with a feeling of hope and fear like The Empire Strikes Back.
The Plan Is To Have Stranger Things Season 5 Exclusively Take Place In Hawkins
The characters featured in Stranger Things Season 4 spread around the world in places like the Soviet Union, California, and Hawkins, but the Duffer Brothers have revealed that the final season will see the familiar faces back together in Hawkins again. During a presentation on the Happy Sad Confused Podcast in July 2022, Matt Duffer had this to say when asked if the show will run exclusively when it all started:
That’s what we hope and hope to do, which is just to keep it in Hawkins’ control. It’s going to feel a lot bigger in scale than Season 1. We want to go back to a lot of the things that we did in Season 1 and a lot of the basics and pairs that we had in Season 1.
Duffer would go on to emphasize that while the show would only take place in one place this time around, it will feel more in terms of promise and scale of the story.
Will Byers Will Be A ‘Big Part And Focus’ Of Stranger Things Season 5
Even before Season 4 Stranger Things came to an end, the internet was full of theories about Will Byers actually being a villain, and while it’s hard to say whether that’s true or not, the character will be a part of of the final season of the show. . Speaking to Collider in July 2022, Matt Duffer revealed that the younger Brother Byers will be “a big part and focus” of the show going forward, which was a lot of teasing during the last two episodes of Season 4.
Supporting that view, Ross Duffer said Will’s tour is not over yet and his unresolved problems (like others on the show) will play a huge role in how the show ends over the final season.
There Isn’t A Stranger Things Season 5 Premiere Date Yet
A release date has not yet been announced for Stranger Things Season 5, but one of its stars hopes it will be sooner rather than later. Speaking about the future of the show in a GQ interview in July 2022, David Harbor seemed optimistic that a new episode could be available sometime in 2024, based on their track record.
