Peer stars J.K. Simmons playing for J.K. Simmons. Be excited about that for a second. Set in Germany during a cold war, the sci-fi thriller follows a low-office grunt who was disturbed by his gloomy life. Then one day, he rocks up at work and strikes himself, but a better version of a parallel world. For secrets, weather action and a dual-lead masterpiece show from Simmons Counterpart must be watched.

Tales from the Loop (2020—)
Tales from the Loop is not just another show about a small town where strange things happen, Tales from the Loop has beautiful surface layers. Based on an art narrative book by Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag, the series is great to watch. Somehow symmetrical meticulous frames provide a painted feel. The villagers are similarly interconnected, and their stories explore loneliness, aging and the impact of technology.
In more ways than one, Orphan Black is Tatiana Maslany’s show. Before she gets a household name thanks to She-Hulk’s upcoming Disney Plus, watch her play at least 14 characters in one set, including a hallucinogenic scorpion. Let it go in for a second. Night Sky isn’t the most iconic title, and the series never reaches hard-hitting sci-fi highlights that some might find popular. While there is a slow-burning mystery in the series about an alien planet, its greatest strength is the thrilling, sometimes very surprising drama, between old couples, the unlikely main characters. Facing health problems, not to mention dangerous new guests, Franklin and Irene York (the J.K. Simmons and Sissy Spacek giants) do their best to make sense of a portal to a mysterious lonely planet.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022—)
The Star Trek series is yet to come. Set in the decade before Star Trek: The Original Series, Strange New Worlds follows Captain Pike (Anson Mount) and the crew of the USS Enterprise star as they go boldly where no one has gone before. With a nod to the earlier series’s storytelling, storytelling, and episodic designs, Strange New Worlds offers a contemporary look at a popular territory.
For a trippy sci-fi that asks you to run your wild theory generator, look no further than the Outer Range. The Western sci-fi is set on the Abbott family farm, where the patriarch Royal (Josh Brolin) hides an almighty secret. When a stranger comes home (Imogen Poots), he is forced to face the past, present and future, and not just in the metaphorical sense. Strangely enough in ways you wouldn’t expect, Outer Range is a solid sci-fi ride worth sticking to.
This sci-fi horror focuses on a small town plagued by horrific mysterious events. When a family gets lost, they experience nightmares in which deadly creatures and villagers are equally dead. With enough intrigue to keep you locked up and a strong main character in Sheriff Stevens Harold Perrineau, From is an attractive destination to spend time there.
The Man Who Fell to Earth (2022—)
This series, based on the Walter Tevis novel, features a fantastic team: Chiwetel Ejiofor plays an alien who lands on Earth in search of the help of a brilliant scientist and Bill Nighy plays Thomas Jerome Newton, an alien who fell to Earth in a 1976 film adaptation =. The role was originally played by David Bowie and each episode in this sequel to the film is named after one of Bowie’s songs. However, if you do not want split timelines, be alert.
Amazon rescued The Expanse from the TV arena, bringing the series up to six seasons. Thank God it did, as The Expanse is a clever sci-fi with realistic characters, high production values and a dash of noir detective. In a future in which mankind has colonized the Solar System, a conspiracy is threatening to start a cold war between the major powers. There is an anti – hero band in the middle. Expect more space of western themes in the ensuing subsequent seasons.

Black Mirror inevitably makes comparisons to this British series about the lost technology. Future in London, The Feed focuses on an implant that allows people to stream their lives without the need to push a button on the phone. No, nothing goes wrong. An impressive team includes David Thewlis and Michelle Fairley. While not as polished or as deep – cut as Black Mirror, The Feed is still worth a look.
The Upload plan combines Black Mirror and The Good Place to shed light on the afterlife. In the near future, humans can be uploaded into a digital sky, where they can still interact with the living. Even when he’s dead, programmer Nathan can’t escape his overweight girlfriend. Meanwhile, he is helping to find a solution to his own murder. Comedy comedy sometimes set in a digital space that is very interesting.

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (1981)
Prior to the 2005 film starring Martin Freeman, Douglas Adams ‘classic sci-fi comedy franchise brought this’ 80s cultural TV series. Making the most of visual acrobatics, the six-part series brought Arthur Dent, Ford Prefect, Trillian, Zaphod Beeblebrox and Marvin to the small screen.

People may not be completely original, but the assembled parts sing. A British family buys an artificial robot called “synthesis” to help with their busy lives. This groundbreaking approach to sensitive, potentially dangerous robots is one of the greatest strengths of humans. At the sweet center: an innocent bond between the youngest daughter of the family and the elegant and effective synth of Gemma Chan Anita. Mystery draws the family into the origins of robots, which explore essential philosophical themes such as humanity, pain, memories and reality.
Electric Dreams (2017-2018)
Electric Dreams comes to the fore, each episode of the series is a vibrant, polished product anthology whirling around the ideas of its source material: The Works of Philip K. Dick. As with most sales, some episodes are better than others, but if you fancy storytelling with settings like Black Mirror, let this reverie pass you by.
The Man in the High Castle (2015-2019)
The Man in the High Castle imagines an alternate history in which the Asian forces (Rome-Berlin-Tokyo) conquer in World War II. Based on a Philip K. Dick novel, the series follows characters in the ’60s who live in a parallel universe, where Nazi Germany and the Japanese Empire rule the US. But newsreel footage is impossible in the face of a world in which Germany and Japan lose the war, leading some to revolt. To defend his dystopia credentials, The Man in the High Castle is directed by producer Ridley Scott. Fully realized and with a focused plot, this is exciting on TV.
