Amazon Prime Video is expanding its footprint in Africa with a three-image contract with Lagos-based Nemsia Films.
The first feature in the arrangement will be the Breath of Life. Described as an inspiring story of life and destiny, it was written and directed by co-founder Nemsia BB Sasore, and produced by Eku Edewor.
“We are very excited to be working with Nemsia Films on this pioneering contract, which will complement our growing offer of local Nollywood content for Prime Video users,” said Ayanna Lonian, Content Acquisition Director and Head of Worldwide Major Studio Licensing Strategy, Prime Video .
“This agreement supports our goal of showing Nollywood at its best, telling authentic domestic stories in a range of genres to Prime Video users around the world.”
Nemsia Films co-founded Derin Adeyokunna and Sasore and became a hub for the development of young and new talent across Nollywood.
The company’s past productions include God Calling, Before 30 and Journey Of An African Colony.

Prime Video has previously announced exclusive licensing agreements with leading Nigerian production studios Inkblot Studios and Anthill Studios.
